General Entertainments

There are excellent Japanese jazz musicians and vocalists including pop music. Jazz pianist/vocalist Keiko McNamara and pop due Pascal’s Triangle who compose many of their own songs. We will be pleased to help you with this type of performer.

Keiko McNamara

Keiko McNamara

World class jazz pianist/vocalist Tokyo born but now Sweden based enabling Keiko to hop over to the UK. Keiko is classically trained and following a successful career, turned to jazz 20 years ago to give her musical freedom. Her repertoire draws on standards (Gershwin to Ellington etc.) as well as her own compositions. Keiko’s style has been influenced by jazz greats such as Carmen McRae & Hank Jones. Keiko tours regularly in Europe the USA & Japan and the society is very pleased to have helped introduce her to the UK jazz scene. Keiko is available as a soloist or with other musicians including her own trio (Double Bass & Drums). Keiko still retains her classical links and sometimes combines both styles in concert.

Pascal's Triangle

Pascal’s Triangle

A husband and wife duo of Steve and Aska Holtz. The ‘triangle’ is completed by their young son Pascal who stays at home on gigs and sings to the baby sitter. He can be heard, briefly, on the duo’s first CD “What’s The Fuss”. It is full of great compositions, mainly by Steve, with a little help from Aska. Nearly all the instruments and vocals are recorded by them on their recording studio at home, with Aska’s excellent vocals to the fore.

They make a great sound live and their backing tracks are all originals by Steve who plays keyboards. They also do some augmented ‘live musicians only’ performances and there is no doubt they are an outstanding duo for theatre venues or for discos, hotels, clubs and parties... especially if they are fed now and then. Their range of material is exceptional. Steve is Mauritian and came to the UK for an operation at the age of one which, unfortunately, could not eradicate his blindness. Aska came to the UK from Japan to learn English after theatre and musical training in Japan, met Steve and stayed on ‘happily ever after’.
